Hi Alezzandra, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
Hi Vents! Ive been wonderful, thank you for having me!
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Bad Girl In Heaven, Good Girl In Hell”?
“Bad Girl in Heaven, Good Girl in Hell” has a meaningful place in my heart, I get very emotional when I think of the time when I wrote it.
It was the first song I wrote for my visual EP “The Black Rose” (out May 25th). Under this period I was battling with myself and transitioning from someone I didn’t want to be, to the person I am striking to become. I became more and more fearless.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
For me it was hard to jump on the right path when I intensively started to work on myself and my music career. In the beginning when I moved to Los Angeles I kind of jumped around following other artist that was in the mainstream scene. Under that time I was suffering from not knowing who I was and that inspired me to push myself to the limit, to find myself and my art.
Any plans to release a video for the single?’
Most definitely, you will get to know me when you watch my short film “The Black Rose” that is out May 25th. I’ll reveal my secrets
The single comes off your new album The Black Rose – what’s the story behind the title?
The title means a lot to me. It has a whole story behind it. The metaphors in my film is the beautiful part I hope will reveal the truth to the viewer.
How was the recording and writing process?
For the first time ever I felt that “The Black Rose” journey was all together so meaningful and spiritual. Everybody that wanted to be a part of it made my journey unforgettable. They all knew how special this project was/is for me, because it is about me, my story. I couldn’t have had a better experience or group of people with me, we all made it happened.
What role did LA play on the writing of this record?
HUGE. I changed when I moved to LA. I would say, I grew up living in LA.
The experiences I mention in the film, all happened during the time I’ve lived here.
Did Serbia has influence your music?
It lives inside of me & I try to implement my background more and more as I create art/music.
What emotions did you get to explore on this record?
Every emotion you can possibly feel haha… This record is not just something very meaningful I have created. I was struggling with myself during the whole project, writing/recording/filming. I had to face myself and my truth. One of the hardest things I’ve had to do. Sometimes it felt like I was somebody else, looking at this new person. I have cried so much and laughed at the same time, can’t really describe that feeling.
Any plans to hit the road?
Definitely in my plans! Stay tuned for upcoming shows/events on my website
